Oh boy. Where do we start.

Guess we could start with hello.

So hello! Welcome to what I'm dubbing the Diary of a Gen Z Freelancer. What is this exactly?

We're going to find out together. This is the place for all my thoughts that don't belong in presentations or communications.

This is me unfiltered.

So what's with the title, Diary of a Gen Z Freelancer?

Well, I am 26 and I've never been in a professional environment. I've never worked at an agency, I've never worked at a design firm, pretty much the entirety of my professional career has been as a freelancer. So all the things I know how to do I've either learned on my own or I've had a mentor.

But never ever have I been with a firm.

And I have a lot of thoughts about that.

The thoughts for this post? It's rough out here folks. If I could do it over, I'd do it a little bit differently. I'd prioritize marketing more. I'd make sure I had a more solid base before jumping off the edge.

I would have prepared myself more. This year is the year of hard lessons (on top of the absolutely abysmal political landscape here in the US) and I'll be a little real, it scares me a bit. But if we don't do things scared, will we ever get shit done?

Probably not.

So here we are, doing things scared, hoping we're moving in the right direction with marketing and changing the world of corporate communications a little bit at a time.

Thanks for being here, thanks for reading. Until next time!
