Do you help develop copy and content?

That depends on you. Sometimes, you've got your content all ready to go, you just need someone to make it look nice and I can do that.But I also definitely can (and love to) help with content development. I can help you find a story or thematic framework that we can put your message into to create a more cohesive and coherent design and help you figure out what matters most to your audience.

Are you a graphics operator too?

Typically no, but I have experience operating and am comfortable driving a presentation. Let me know what you're looking for and let's see if we can make it work.

Do you do retainers?

I sure do! Sometimes you just need someone available to help handle one-offs or small events and that's where retainers are handy. I'll set aside a certain amount of hours for you every month and you can use me as needed.

Do you do rush events?

With the right parameters, yes! Last minute events are a bit tough to do because my calendar is booked out in advance but if you're four weeks out, usually I can make that work. Rush events are subject to the same rush fees my standard presentations are (i.e. if you come to me on a Friday for an event that's happening Monday, there will be a 75% weekend work fee).So the earlier you get me on, the better for your budget!

What's your standard rate?

My standard rate for events is $100 per hour for pre-pro, $1000 per on-site day equaling a 10 hour day (and $500 for travel days).For regular presentations, my rate is $85 per slide.

What's the average presentation length?

This varies depending on need. Standard, interior-facing presentations or pitch decks can range anywhere from 15-40 slides typically. Event presentations can run much longer as certain animation types and sequences depend on multiple slides to work.

Why do you charge per hour for events not per slide?

In my experience, it's easier for everyone involved. Because of the higher slide count found in event decks, per hour makes more sense for the client as we're now looking at more complex animations, timings, design, etc. that would make a per slide rate a bit absurd for them.Some of the longest decks I've worked on have been upwards of 100+ slides and at my slide rate of $85 per slide, that's at least $8,500 for one deck, not including on-site time. With multiple presenters at an event, that would add up fast.

What services are included?

For events, anything and everything you want (so long as it's outlined in the SOW). That means meetings, weekend work, late night work, content development, custom graphics, animations, template creation, and anything else you feel you need.

How many revisions do I get?

For events, as many as we need until we get to where we want.For regular presentations, I offer unlimited revisions unless that offer is abused and then I will put a limit on it. While I am happy to do what needs done until we're satisfied, I will not tolerate my professional time and work being taken advantage of.

Are you willing to travel and be on-site for events?

Yes and I do so regularly. Sometimes clients don't need me on-site but more often than not, it is worth it to have me there to handle presentation changes and to be there in case something major breaks. Playing telephone over email is a game no one likes.

Yes, I do! I have my passport prepared at all times so I am able to do so if requested.

What programs do you use?

PowerPoint is my bread and butter but I do have working knowledge in Keynote and Google Slides. I also have a degree in graphic design and am familiar with Adobe's flagship programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and Indesign) though I am most familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator. I also have working knowledge of Figma and Canva.

What is the average cost for an event?

My minimum for an event is $5000 which translates to 50 hours of pre-production work but events generally range from $7k to $20k depending on the size of the event and hours/travel required.

Do you only do presentations for mainstage or do you do breakouts as well?

While my focus and specialty is on the mainstage, I do breakout room presentations as well.

I do! I make them less typically for events but if you're just looking for a template to use internally, I make those as well. Pricing is my $85 per slide rate.

Do you have rush fees?

Yes! For presentations with deadlines of 5 business days or less, the rush fee is 50% of the project cost. For presentations requiring weekend work (ex. you come to me on Friday and need it done by Monday), the rush fee is 75% of the project cost.

How much heads-up do you require in advance for an event?

Typically, I require one and a half to two months advance notice. This is so I can make sure there aren't any conflicts, I can reschedule any appointments, and to give us the most room we can for getting design and content in a good place before the actual event happens.
